After a photo shoot for church, I headed downtown to Los Angeles for some railroad photography.
Here is a shot from the Olympic Street bridge over the LA river with Amtrak's 8th Street facility.
From the left is Amtrak's Coast Starlight, Amtrak's South West Chief & a northbound Pacific Surfliner which is shoving to LA with a private owned dome car on the shoving end.

Rematch Night - 27/365

Thursday night is family night. Last two Thursdays we have played Monopoly. This is a new version with credit cards and an electronic banking machine instead of cash. All the properties and dollar values have been changed.

Found this little thing sitting on my desk. Likely part of some toy set my daughter got for Christmas or the like. Sat it on my wrist bean pad and a white cardboard for a background and 4 led lights in various positions to light it.

Not BluRay - 18/365

A stack of DVD's on a spindle that I arranged for an ODC group. Used one Led flashlight behind and one in the bottom right corner with a reflector behind to bounce some of the yellow from my computer wallpaper in... this is what came out in the frame.
ODC - Sideview
Shot for Our Daily Challenge with the topic of Sideview (being one word). A stack of blank DVD's on a spindle with foam spacers and lit by one led flashlight on the exact opposite side.
Shot in Black and White and treated with a cross processing pre-set in ALR3

Light Up - 17/365

Back on to my subjects of thought. I picked up some more LED flashlights to use for random lighting. One of them broke already but these are all awaiting batteries. $9.99 for 5 lights. Not a steal, but not to bad for what I want to do with them.

I liked the negative impact a lot better then the positive.

Amtrak 457 shoves an Amtrak Pacific Surfliner train out of Fullerton station heading for Los Angeles.
Ran an 8 second exposure and they started their departure at about 6 seconds in.
My friend Ken shoots images like this so often that I started calling them KenShots.

The Fallen - 13/365
Image 13 of my 2011 365 Day project.
My yard is full of leaves from our street tree. Decided to sweep some up into a pile as my son like to stomp on them.
Missed my sunlight but shot a bunch of the pile anyways for use here. This one has a few Lightroom Presets applied to it as well as a light balance adjustment to play with the tones.

Simply Red - 12/365
mage 12 of my 2011 365 Day project.
This plant is growing on the side of my house. I wanted to get it in brighter light but shadow falls quickly where it grows.. so I shot from underneath it. It is as tall as the house. The leaves remind me of Poinsettias but I am not sure what it really is.

Holga 120 S - 06/365
My Holga 120 S. A camera my sister bought me for my birthday many years ago along with 2 rolls of Ilford Delta 400 Professional Black And White film. I have shot a complete roll and never opened the second package.. nor developed the first roll. I have no idea what is on it, only that I took the experiment suggestion fully to heart with it.
