Some More Black & White Images

I have been showcasing about 1 railroad related image per post it seems... so here is my one image for this post. This is a profile image of the signals which protect eastward and westward movement of the Union Pacific Railroad & BNSF Railway as they enter and exit the Alameda Corridor which takes trains from Los Angeles to points in Wilmington or Long Beach, CA

The next two images are sort of railroad related. They are both the west and east sides of Pabco Paper which resides in Vernon, CA. Vernon is a mostly industrial zoned city and this paper mill rest on the southern edge of the city alongside BNSF's Malabar Yard.

That is all I have to offer right now.. thanks for looking.

Random Images

I have been sorting through the images of the last year as I prep them for archiving and well .. came across a few from February of this year that I felt like sharing.

First is an image taken in downtown Pomona, California. Somewhat spanish style train station bridge converted to black and white and cropped to my liking.

Second in my offering is from that same day but shows the reflection of the sun and a stack train off the passenger side of my car. I like to play with reflections at times.

Lastly is another image from February of 2008 - but taken in Los Angeles, CA. This is the Sears building from the east side (Soto Street) loading area no longer utilized.

Also of further note is that I have been adding more links to the What is Music .. section on the side bar.
Came across the new disc by The Wood Brothers this evening. Great Folk/Blues/Jazz/Traditional Country sound going on here. Already a fan of Medeski, Martin and Wood and stumbled across this one thanks to iTunes. One of the Wood Brothers happens to be Chris Wood who is the Bass player for MMW. Highly recommend their latest called Loaded as well as their debut disc put out in 2006 called Ways Not to Lose.
